Dietetics in Run-O-Waters.

We treat Run-O-Waters residents from our Goulburn clinic — about 18 minutes and 12 km away.

Local care

Dietetics for Run-O-Waters residents.

Run-O-Waters sits close enough to the clinic — 18 minutes across the western edge of town, about 12 kilometres — that a dietetics appointment fits around school pick-up rather than taking over the day. That short trip matters for the acreage and lifestyle-block families who make up a lot of the suburb: quick to get to, easy to repeat.

Kids' sport is a big part of life here, and we see plenty of questions about fuelling training, growth, and appetite in active school-age children, alongside parents managing their own weight or cholesterol after years of commuting and irregular meals. A written plan with specific, realistic changes works better than a general "eat better" conversation for households already juggling training runs and drop-offs.

Because the drive is short, we can also set closer-spaced follow-ups where the situation calls for it — early gestational diabetes, or a child needing more frequent monitoring — without the appointment schedule becoming the hard part.

Getting here

The drive in from Run-O-Waters.

Run-O-Waters sits on Goulburn's western fringe, about 12 km from the clinic and roughly 18 minutes away via the local roads west of Goulburn. Our clinic is at 37 Ross Street in the centre of Goulburn, with parking on site — an easy trip for a first assessment or a standing block of appointments.

What we treat

What Run-O-Waters patients see us for.

A dietitian is who you see for the food side of medicine. Ours are Accredited Practising Dietitians — the national standard for medical nutrition care — and they work from your actual blood results and day-to-day life to a written plan tied to a number that matters, then follow it up.

Common questions

Questions we get asked a lot.

  • Do I need a GP referral for a dietetics appointment?

Not to book. You can see us privately without one. A referral is only required to claim Medicare rebates, via a GP Chronic Disease Management plan, or to access an Eating Disorder Plan for eligible diagnoses.

  • How often can we come in, given how close Run-O-Waters is?

At about 18 minutes and 12 kilometres, many families manage fortnightly or monthly follow-ups without much disruption, which suits conditions like gestational diabetes or a child's nutrition plan that benefit from closer monitoring.

  • How is a dietitian different from a nutritionist?

An Accredited Practising Dietitian holds a university degree, is governed by Dietitians Australia, and completes audited ongoing professional development. "Nutritionist" is an unregulated title and a different role. For Medicare-, NDIS-, or DVA-funded nutrition care, an APD is the recognised provider.

  • Can I get a Medicare rebate for seeing a dietitian?

Yes, with a GP Chronic Disease Management plan, which covers up to five rebated allied-health visits a year across all disciplines. Dietetics is also funded through NDIS and DVA, or you can book privately without a referral. Bring your plan and any recent blood work to the first appointment.
