35 minutes from Collector

Exercise physiology in Collector.

We treat Collector residents from our Goulburn clinic — about 35 minutes and 40 km away.

Local care

Exercise physiology for Collector residents.

Collector's small heritage village sits alongside grazing country, and the people we see from there are usually either farming families managing the physical toll of stock work, or older residents who've lived locally for decades and are starting to notice hips, knees, and balance becoming harder to trust. Exercise physiology covers both: safe strength building for backs and joints under load, and falls-prevention work for people wanting to stay steady on uneven ground.

It's about 35 minutes via the Federal Highway, roughly 40 kilometres, a drive Collector locals are used to for most services. We plan programs around fortnightly visits rather than weekly ones, with home routines doing the heavy lifting between sessions.

Medicare, DVA, private, and CTP funding are all available — CTP if an injury followed a highway accident, which we do see from time to time given Collector's location.

Getting here

The drive in from Collector.

Collector sits south-west of Goulburn, about 40 km from the clinic and roughly 35 minutes away via the Federal Highway. Our clinic is at 37 Ross Street in the centre of Goulburn, with parking on site — an easy trip for a first assessment or a standing block of appointments.

What we treat

What Collector patients see us for.

Exercise physiology is exercise prescribed like medicine. Our EPs are ESSA-accredited and four-year university trained, and they're the right call for chronic disease, cancer recovery, getting strong again after surgery, and the longer rehab arcs that don't fit inside a physio block.

  • Chronic conditionstype 2 diabetes, heart disease, COPD
  • Building strength safely for back, knee, and hip pain
  • Rehab after injury or surgery
  • Cancer rehabduring and after treatment
  • Falls prevention and strength for older adults
  • Exercise as part of a mental-health plan

Common questions

Questions we get asked a lot.

  • What if my injury happened in a highway accident near Collector — does CTP cover exercise physiology?

Yes, CTP can fund exercise physiology as part of accident recovery once a claim is open. Bring your claim details to the first session and we'll confirm what's covered.

  • Is a GP referral needed to start from Collector?

Not to book privately. A referral under a Chronic Disease Management plan adds a Medicare rebate, and DVA clients need a valid referral from their GP or specialist — we can talk you through which applies.

  • How is an exercise physiologist different from a personal trainer?

An accredited exercise physiologist is a four-year university-trained clinician registered with ESSA, qualified to assess and prescribe exercise for diagnosed medical conditions, injuries, and chronic disease. Personal training is an unregulated industry credential. EP is the recognised discipline for medical exercise, and it's claimable under Medicare, NDIS, WorkCover, and DVA where a trainer isn't.

  • Can I claim exercise physiology on Medicare?

Yes, with a GP Chronic Disease Management plan, which covers up to five rebated allied-health visits a year across all disciplines. EP is also funded through NDIS, WorkCover, CTP, and DVA, or you can book privately without any referral. Bring your plan or referral to the first appointment.
