CTP psychology in Goulburn.

If you're dealing with anxiety, low mood, trauma or grief after a car accident, our AHPRA-registered psychologists at 37 Ross Street can see you under a CTP claim. CTP covers psychological treatment following a NSW motor accident, and the claim doesn't need to be fully sorted before your first visit — call us, mention it's CTP, and we'll help get things moving. The main thing to know is that early sessions are typically pre-approved up to a set amount, so treatment can start quickly while we confirm the finer details with your insurer.

How it works

CTP-funded psychology, step by step.

  1. Call us and mention CTP

Get in touch and tell us your sessions will be claimed through CTP following a NSW motor accident. We'll take your claim details and check the current rules with your insurer before you come in.

  2. Start in the early-treatment window

In the first few months after the accident, treatment is usually pre-approved up to a set amount, so you can start seeing a psychologist for anxiety, low mood, trauma or adjustment without waiting on full claim approval.

  3. Assessment and a plan built around you

Your psychologist assesses what's going on — accident-related trauma, ongoing anxiety, low mood, or the flow-on effects on daily life — and sets out a therapy approach, drawing on CBT, ACT, EMDR or schema therapy as needed.

  4. Approval and reporting for ongoing care

Once the early-treatment window closes, continuing sessions need insurer approval. Your psychologist prepares the treatment plan and progress reports that support this, and we send updates to the insurer as part of the normal claim review.

Common questions

Questions we get asked a lot.

  • Do I need a referral to see a psychologist under CTP?

No referral is needed to get started. When you call to book, just let us know it's CTP — we'll take your claim details and confirm the current rules with your insurer before your first session.

  • What if my CTP claim isn't sorted yet?

That's fine. The claim doesn't need to be fully finalised before your first visit — we can begin working with you and confirm the remaining details with the insurer as your treatment continues.

  • Does every session need insurer approval?

In the first few months after the accident, sessions are usually pre-approved up to a set amount. Once that early-treatment window closes, ongoing sessions need insurer approval, which we support with a treatment plan and progress reports.

  • Who writes the reports my insurer needs?

Your psychologist prepares the treatment plan and progress reports, and we send updates to the insurer as part of the normal claim review — you don't need to manage this paperwork yourself.
